چکیده

1.1 There are a variety of different requirements and qualifications of users applying simulation as a research method in the social sciences. Experience gained with users of the simulation system MIMOSE (Möhring 1996) and discussions in interdisciplinary workshops (Gilbert 1996 and Gilbert et al. 1997) suggest that developing a unified modelling and simulation language for the social sciences is an unrealistic aim.

Organizational Learning and Knowledge Spillover in Innovation Networks: Agent-Based Approach (Extending SKIN Framework)

In knowledge-based economy, knowledge has a public good and non-rivalry nature. Firms build their own knowledge stock not only by means of internal R&D and collaboration with partners, but also by means of previously spilled over knowledge of other firms and public research laboratories (such as universities). Firms based on their absorptive capacity, and level of intra-industry and extra-indus...

A review of agent-based modeling (ABM) concepts and some of its main applications in management science

We live in a very complex world where we face complex phenomena such as social norms and new technologies. To deal with such phenomena, social scientists often use reductionism approach where they reduce them to some lower-lever variables and model the relationships among them through a scheme of equations. This approach that is called equation based modeling (EBM) has some basic weaknesses in ...

A virtual field-based conceptual framework for the simulation of complex social systems

This highly interdisciplinary research paper discusses some new insights into the fundamental properties of information-rich social networks. It mainly focuses on: i) Postulating the general properties of an information-based networking economy; ii) Modeling emergent and self-organizing features of social networks; iii) Discussing how to simulate complex social systems using a field-based appro...
